Carousel from Oxygen’s Gallery using Flickity

In the past, we showed how a WordPress gallery can be converted to a carousel/slider here.

This members-only tutorial provides the steps to initialize Flickity on the output of Oxygen's Gallery components so they appear as carousels/sliders.

Step 1 - Oxygen Gallery

Edit your Page(s)/Template with Oxygen and add one or more galleries as needed.

In my test site, I've set

Thumbnail Resolution: medium_large
Image Aspect Ratio: 16:10
Images per row: 3

Add a class of carousel-gallery to each gallery that you want to be converted to carousel. With this class selected, set the Display to block.

Step 2 - Load and initialize Flickity

Install and activate My Custom Functionality plugin.

Connect to your hosting account using a FTP client and navigate to site's /wp-content/plugins/my-custom-functionality-master.

Upload flickity.min.css to the plugin's assets/css directory.

Upload flickity.pkgd.min.js to the plugin's assets/js directory.
Create a file named say, flickity-init.js in the above location having the following:
