When you install Oxygen, you are presented with two options: Default Install or Blank Install.

If you have chosen Blank Install because you want to say develop a custom design here is how you can get started:

Step 1

Go to Oxygen > Templates.

Add a new Template named say “Main”. Set it as the Catch All (under Other) i.e., global template.

Edit with Oxygen.

Add your header, Inner Content element and a footer.

If you wish to have the footer be pushed to the bottom of the page, follow this tutorial.

Step 2

Add another Template named say “Posts page”.

Set it to inherit from the Main template and apply it to “Blog Posts Index” under Other.

Edit with Oxygen.

Add a Section and inside the Section, an Easy Posts element.

Step 3

For most sites nowadays, it is common to have a static homepage with the list of posts on an inner page like Blog or News.

For this, create two Pages named say, “Home” and “Blog”.

Go to Settings > Reading and set a static homepage with Home as the Homepage and Blog as the Posts page.

To build your homepage, edit the Home page with Oxygen.
